Description | A hand-woven linen runner (rushnyk) was originally used to hang over an icon. One of three from a set. Beige background with colourful woven stripes of small "x" and "v" motifs. This runner features an end pattern in dark blue, light blue, red, green and yellow. Central colour stripes consist of green strips bordered by red and yellow boxes. Fringes on each end. One large mended rip on one end, plus worn through on the edges. A loop was sewn onto the middle of one side to help hang it over an icon. Matches UF2013.045.a114 and UF2013.045.a115. |
