Description | This runner is made from two, old embroidered blouse sleeves. The embroidery pattern is of small red flowers (lilac-like) with black leaves and vines. It is extremely faded and worn. Each sleeve was originally cut from a linen tablecloth and then embroidered. The two sleeves were later cut from the blouse, trimmed and sewn together and then edged with white cotton. This was the piece that was copied for the embroidery on UF2013.045.a094. Embroidery stitch: cross stitch. |
