Embroidered tablecloth
Title | Embroidered tablecloth |
Description | White tablecloth trimmed with white lace on 3 sides (left, bottom, right). Embroidery on 2 edges (left, bottom). Embroidery motifs include cherries and butterflies. The artifact is worn and faded, and the lace has come away from the fabric on the left side. Wax stains on the right side and the fact that it is only finished with lace on 3 sides suggest that this piece may have been used in a church, on an altar. Embroidery stitch: cross stitch (khrestyky). Embroidery colours: purple, green, orange, pink. |
