    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[A runner embroidered with a string of large diamond patterns on a white background each with black dentals along the interiors with the centre of each diamond featuring a stylized cross in black and red with yellow accents and a diamond multi-coloured centre. Filling the triangular spaces between the diamonds are quadrants of the same cross design but now dominantly in black and green. Each edge of the broad design features a string of horn-like colourful patterns. Short fringes on both sides.  Embroidery stitch: cross stitch.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[This runner is made from two, old embroidered blouse sleeves. The embroidery pattern is of small red flowers (lilac-like) with black leaves and vines. It is extremely faded and worn. Each sleeve was originally cut from a linen tablecloth and then embroidered. The two sleeves were later cut from the blouse, trimmed and sewn together and then edged with white cotton. This was the piece that was copied for the embroidery on UF2013.045.a094. It was from the collection created in the 1970s for the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Ensemble in Edmonton and used for the performance of &quot;Pryvit&quot;. This rushnyk was initially worn by Roman when he was master of ceremonies for the Malanka celebration at the University of Alberta Faculty Club in January of 1977.</a>]]></dcterms:provenance>
