    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Embroidered women&#039;s blouse with 3/4 length sleeves and a square neckline. The pattern was embroidered onto cotton pieces, then appliqued onto a blouse made of synthetic, polyester material. The geometric pattern of diamonds has been created in cross stitch. Sequins and long glass beads have been added to the embroidery.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Embroidered women&#039;s blouse. Hand-sewn peasant style with raglan sleeves and fitted cuffs. Cross stitched red and black geometric pattern appears on the sleeves, around each cuff, and on a front placket below the neckline. The neck is trimmed with a thin eyelet lace through which a thick thread was originally strung to gather the neckline. Each cuff is fastened with 2 snaps. The red embroidery thread appears to have run during washing and has tinted the fabric pink with some darker red blotches.]]></dcterms:description>

This item is part of a complete set of traditional Ukrainian women&#039;s clothing from central Ukraine. It was worn with &quot;plakhta&quot; UF2013.045.a093. Central pattern is predominantly black with burgundy and orange accents. The bottom section is white on white vertical pattern with burgundy accents and silver, metal sequins. Two, burgundy, vertical stripes are embroidered on the front chest of the blouse and on the back. Straight cut sleeves, no cuffs. Bukovyna, late nineteenth century. Embroidery stitches: cross stitch (khrestyky), satin stitch (hlad&#039;), reverse satin stitch (nyzynka).]]></dcterms:description>

The rest of the sleeve is decorated with a scattering of green diamond motifs. The bottom of the sleeve is finished with a cuff, embroidered with the same pattern as the horizontal panel. The front of the blouse has a square neckline which is embroidered and five diamond motifs embroidered below the neckline. The neckline is clasped shut in the back with 3 dome fasteners.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Hand-woven embroidered linen blouse. The sleeve pattern starts with a broad, multi-coloured, earth tone, embroidered section into which metallic thread and metal sequins have been incorporated into a very fine pattern of geometric shapes. The central section features brighter, primary colours in larger geometric shapes. the bottom section features multi-coloured diamond and square motifs arranged in a grid and bordered on either side with a finely embroidered chain of floral motifs. Cuffs are gathered and finished with a spiral hem. The front and back panels of the bodice are embroidered with two vertical strips featuring a chain of floral motifs. The edge of the neckline is finished with red and burgundy embroidered thread and then gathered on a string which ties in front. Bukovyna, late nineteenth century.
